Marseille, July 31, 2025 — Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is poised to join Olympique de Marseille, with the player scheduled to undergo his medical examination today ahead of a permanent move.

The 36-year-old forward, who spent last season at Olympique Lyonnais, is expected to sign a two-year contract with Marseille, bringing his extensive European experience to the French club. Club officials have not released official figures, but the move is understood to be a free transfer following the expiration of Aubameyang’s previous deal.

Aubameyang, who has also played for Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, and Chelsea, is set to bolster Marseille’s attacking options for the 2025–26 Ligue 1 campaign. Sources close to the club say the deal reflects Marseille’s strategy to mix youth talent with proven veterans as they push for a return to Champions League contention.

Pending the results of today’s medical, Aubameyang could be unveiled later this week.
