Paris – July 31, 2025
Gianluigi Donnarumma and his representatives have not ruled out the possibility of extending his stay at Paris Saint-Germain, despite increasing speculation over his future and the looming arrival of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.
Donnarumma, whose current contract runs until June 2026, remains committed to the Parisian club for the time being. Sources close to the Italian international confirm that he is prepared to compete for his place in the squad, much like he did during his earlier rivalry with Keylor Navas.
While Chevalier is widely expected to join PSG in the coming weeks as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the goalkeeping department, Donnarumma is not expected to make any immediate decisions about his future. Instead, the 25-year-old is likely to evaluate his role and playing time over the coming months before determining the next steps in his career.
Donnarumma has made over 130 appearances for PSG since his arrival from AC Milan in 2021 and remains a key figure in the Italian national team. Club insiders suggest PSG are open to internal competition and have yet to make a final decision regarding the goalkeeping hierarchy for the 2025–26 season.
With the new Ligue 1 campaign approaching, all eyes will be on how head coach Luis Enrique handles the emerging situation between experience and youth in goal.
