July 30, 2025 — Menlo Park — Meta Platforms Inc. today reported robust quarterly results, with more than 3.4 billion people engaging daily with at least one of its apps, marking continued growth across its business and community. CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted significant progress in the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, underscoring Meta’s vision to develop “personal superintelligence” — AI that surpasses human intelligence and empowers individuals globally.
“Our business continues to perform very well, enabling us to invest heavily in AI,” Zuckerberg said. “We are beginning to see glimpses of our AI systems improving themselves. Developing superintelligence is now in sight.”
Meta has established Meta Superintelligence Labs, integrating foundational research, product development, and applied AI teams to accelerate advancements. The company is progressing toward the launch of improved large language models, Llama 4.1 and 4.2, while concurrently working on next-generation models expected within the coming year.
Key leaders in the effort include Alexandr Wang (team lead), Nat Friedman (AI products and applied research), and Chief Scientist Shengjia Zhao. The firm is also expanding compute infrastructure with plans for the Prometheus cluster, anticipated to be the world’s first 1GW+ AI computing cluster, and Hyperion, targeting up to 5GW capacity over several years.
