London, July 30, 2025 — The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing for the sale of the final two franchises in The Hundred competition: the Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets. While six of the eight franchise deals have been finalized, these two remain “on track” for formal completion at a later date.
The Oval Invincibles are set to be jointly owned by Surrey County Cricket Club (51%) and India’s Reliance Group (49%). Trent Rockets’ new investors include Cain International and Ares Management, who will hold a combined 49% stake, with Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club retaining the remaining 51%.
The ECB has extended the deadline for these deals, allowing investors the option to complete the transactions post-season, with operational control expected to transfer on October 1, 2025.
Despite the extended timeline, the ECB remains confident that these final agreements will be concluded in due course, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of The Hundred competition.
