Colombo — Responding to inquiries about Sri Lanka’s political alignment on the Palestine-Israel issue, Opposition MP Mujibur Rahman stated today that the Opposition remains committed to upholding Sri Lanka’s traditional non-aligned foreign policy.
Rahman contrasted this position with that of the current government, led by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) under the National People’s Power (NPP) coalition, which he claimed has shifted its stance in recent times.
The MP’s remarks highlight ongoing debates within Sri Lanka’s political landscape regarding foreign policy direction amid complex international developments. The Opposition appears to advocate for continuity in maintaining balanced relations without siding explicitly with either party.
