Dubai, August 3, 2025 — The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially confirmed that the 2025 edition of the Men’s Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates, with matches set to take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 9 to 28.

This year’s tournament will follow the T20 format and features eight teams, divided into two groups:

Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong

A total of 13 matches are scheduled, with Dubai International Cricket Stadium hosting key encounters, including the India vs Pakistan blockbuster group-stage clash on September 14 and the final on September 28. Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Cricket Stadium will host eight matches, including a Super Four fixture.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage, followed by the final, which will determine Asia’s champion ahead of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

Cricket administrators say the Asia Cup will serve as a crucial test for regional squads, allowing them to fine-tune strategies and lineups in competitive conditions. With India and Pakistan placed in the same group, fans could witness up to three high-stakes matches between the rivals—group stage, Super Four, and the final.

The Asia Cup’s return to the UAE—considered a neutral venue with world-class infrastructure—comes amid regional scheduling constraints and ongoing political sensitivities between some member nations.

Fixtures commence with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong on September 9 in Abu Dhabi.

As anticipation builds, ticket sales and broadcast plans are expected to be released later this month. Organisers have called for the sport’s spirit to prevail as the region gears up for a month of intense, entertaining T20 cricket.
