Dubai, August 3, 2025 — Dubai has recorded an impressive 9.88 million international tourist arrivals in the first six months of 2025, a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. The figure marks a significant milestone for the city’s ambitious tourism growth agenda and reflects Dubai’s steady recovery and expansion as a global travel destination.

The announcement, made by the Department of Economy and Tourism, signals strong momentum as Dubai continues to build on its reputation for offering a diverse, secure, and world-class travel experience. Officials cited the increase as evidence of the emirate’s effective global outreach and the strength of its public-private sector partnerships.

“This achievement highlights the confidence travellers continue to place in Dubai. It’s a testament to the emirate’s consistent investment in hospitality, infrastructure, and visitor experience,” a senior DET official said.

The performance is directly aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which aims to position the city among the top three global tourism and economic hubs by 2033.

Analysts point to several factors behind the growth — including streamlined visa processes, high-profile global events, cultural attractions, and the city’s strong safety record. Dubai’s ability to balance modern luxury with authentic regional experiences has also helped sustain interest across a wide range of traveler demographics.

The hospitality industry has played a pivotal role in supporting this growth, with hotel occupancy rates climbing steadily and visitor spending increasing in key sectors such as retail, dining, and entertainment. The city also continues to attract return visitors — a strong indicator of long-term satisfaction and destination loyalty.

With the second half of the year featuring major events including the Dubai Fitness Challenge, GITEX Technology Week, and the winter tourism season, officials are optimistic that Dubai could cross the 20 million visitor mark by year-end.

For now, the message from Dubai is clear: the world is welcome, and the city is ready.
