Amman, August 3, 2025 — Jordan has issued a sharp condemnation of the recent march to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, led by Israel’s far-right National Security Minister, describing the event as a “flagrant violation of international law.”

In an official statement released today, Jordan’s government expressed “strongest terms” of disapproval, highlighting that such actions exacerbate tensions in the sensitive Jerusalem holy site and undermine prospects for peace.

The march, which drew widespread criticism from regional and international actors, took place amid heightened unrest and deepening divisions surrounding the status of Al-Aqsa, a site sacred to both Muslims and Jews.

Jordan, which holds custodianship over Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and sanctity of these sites and called on all parties to respect international legal norms and avoid provocations that could further destabilize the region.

The incident adds to the mounting regional concerns over escalating violence and political confrontations related to Jerusalem’s contested religious landmarks.
