Cupertino, California
A newly surfaced leak suggests Apple may unveil its upcoming iPhone 17 lineup — including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro — on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
The claim comes via a leaked internal document from a European wireless carrier, first reported by German tech blog iPhone-Ticker and later cited by 9to5Mac. While Apple has not confirmed the date, the leak aligns with the company’s well-established pattern of hosting iPhone launch events in early September, typically on a Tuesday.
Familiar Timing, New Lineup
Apple has consistently favored the second week of September for its annual iPhone events, with the notable exception of 2020, when supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19 pushed the event to October.
This year’s alleged launch date also falls on a Tuesday — a day traditionally chosen by Apple for major hardware announcements. In 2024, the event was pushed back by a day due to the U.S. presidential debate.
If confirmed, the September 9 launch will likely include details on the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, rumored to introduce a slimmer “Air” model alongside the standard and Pro versions. Speculation suggests Apple may focus on design refinement, upgraded AI capabilities, and battery efficiency as central themes in this year’s iteration.
Still Unconfirmed
Apple has yet to issue invitations or confirm a keynote date. The company is known for closely guarding event details, often announcing official plans just a week or two prior to the launch.
Until then, the tech world is watching closely, as the iPhone 17 series is expected to set the tone for the next phase of Apple’s hardware and AI integration strategy.
