Arsenal and German club VfB Stuttgart have initiated discussions regarding a potential transfer of midfielder Fabio Vieira ahead of the summer deadline.
Vieira, 25, who joined the Gunners from Porto in 2022 for approximately £34 million, has been part of a group of players Arsenal are willing to offload this window. Despite his promising pedigree, the Portuguese midfielder has struggled to establish himself in the Premier League, failing to consistently meet expectations.
Last season, Vieira spent time on loan back at Porto, where he showed glimpses of form, but Arsenal appear ready to cut ties permanently. Stuttgart are exploring the possibility of adding the midfielder to their squad as they seek to bolster their creative options.
Negotiations are ongoing, with both clubs working to agree on terms. Vieira’s move would mark another step in Arsenal’s summer squad restructuring as they aim to streamline the roster ahead of the new campaign.
