LONDON — August 5, 2025

Chelsea Football Club’s summer overhaul is accelerating, with multiple high-profile exits on the cards as part of a broader restructuring under the club’s evolving transfer strategy.

Sources close to the club confirm that Christopher Nkunku is pushing for a move, with discussions between his camp and interested clubs already underway. The 27-year-old French attacker, who endured an injury-hit debut season at Stamford Bridge, is believed to be seeking a fresh start elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson could also be on his way out, with Chelsea open to letting the striker leave if a strong offer arrives before the transfer window closes. Jackson showed flashes of promise last season but failed to establish himself as a consistent starter.

The latest departures follow Marc Guiu and Armando Broja, both of whom have been sold in recent days, while João Félix’s move from Atlético Madrid has been made permanent.

Tyrique George and Raheem Sterling are also considered likely to depart, as Chelsea look to reduce squad depth and offload players not central to their long-term plans. Sterling’s high wages and inconsistent performances have reportedly prompted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States.

The moves come as part of a continued effort to reshape Chelsea’s squad, shifting toward a leaner and more balanced group aligned with the club’s current tactical direction and financial strategy.

More changes are expected before the transfer window closes, with Chelsea actively listening to offers across several positions.
