Saman Ekanayake, the former Secretary to the President, appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation concerning a foreign trip reportedly funded by the Presidential Secretariat.
Officials confirmed that Ekanayake was summoned as part of a broader inquiry into the use of government funds and compliance with official procedures during his tenure. The investigation aims to clarify the circumstances and appropriateness of the expenses related to the foreign visit.
