Gaza City, Palestine — Deadly Israeli air strikes continue to devastate residential areas across the Gaza Strip, with civilians once again bearing the heaviest toll as the military escalation shows no signs of slowing.
In one of the most recent attacks, a makeshift tent sheltering displaced families in al-Mawasi, southern Gaza, was struck without warning, eyewitnesses say. No prior evacuation notice was issued before the strike hit the area — a zone previously considered a relative safe haven.
Elsewhere, near the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, five civilians were killed when an air strike levelled a residential apartment. Among the dead were a father, his wife, and their children. Emergency workers said it took hours to recover their bodies from the rubble.
Moments after that strike, a powerful explosion shook the central region of the strip, reverberating across multiple districts. Residents reported the persistent hum of drones overhead, a now constant presence in Gaza’s skies.
The latest wave of bombings comes amid what many in Gaza are describing as relentless and indiscriminate attacks. With densely populated neighbourhoods increasingly targeted, shelters, homes, and refugee areas have not been spared.
Israel has defended its military operations as targeting Hamas infrastructure, but local and international observers have repeatedly raised alarm over the disproportionate civilian casualties and the destruction of areas with no clear military value.
Medical facilities, already on the brink of collapse, are struggling to treat the wounded, with doctors warning of critical shortages of supplies and electricity.
There is still no ceasefire in sight, and more than two million Palestinians remain trapped under siege, with little access to food, clean water, or safety. As the bombing continues, families are left to grieve, dig through debris, and brace for the next strike.
