Minuwangoda, Sri Lanka — A 37-year-old man has been arrested in the Unnaruwa area with a significant haul of narcotics, including 1.66 kilograms of heroin and 308 grams of crystal methamphetamine (“ICE”).
The arrest was made last evening during a targeted raid by officers from the Police Special Task Force’s Gonahena camp, acting on a tip-off. The suspect, a resident of Minuwangoda, was taken into custody and handed over to the Minuwangoda Police Station for further processing.
Police have launched an investigation into the source of the drugs and possible links to wider trafficking networks.
