Cairo, Egypt — Palestine’s representative to the Arab League has called for an urgent session of the 22-member bloc to address Israel’s announced plans to militarily occupy Gaza City and expand control over the entire Gaza Strip, alongside escalating attacks in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Wafa news agency, the call aims to establish “mechanisms for action at the Arab and international levels to confront Israeli crimes, prevent their continuation, and prosecute their perpetrators before international justice mechanisms.”
The request comes amid growing regional condemnation, with Saudi Arabia most recently denouncing Israel’s actions. The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning Israel’s “persistence in committing crimes of starvation, brutal practices and ethnic cleansing against the brotherly Palestinian people.”
Arab states across the region have voiced unified opposition to Israel’s moves, calling for coordinated diplomatic and legal responses to halt further violence and suffering in Palestinian territories.
