Paris, France — French President Emmanuel Macron has sharply criticized Israel’s current approach in Gaza, warning that it could lead to a “disaster” with dire consequences for both Israeli hostages and civilians in the Palestinian territory.

Speaking on Sunday, Macron said the ongoing strategy risked worsening the crisis rather than resolving it, stressing that those trapped in the conflict — including hostages held by armed groups and the wider civilian population — would bear the brunt of the fallout.

The French leader has repeatedly called for renewed diplomatic efforts and a sustainable ceasefire, urging all parties to prioritize the protection of civilians and the release of hostages as part of any long-term resolution.
