A special island-wide police operation conducted on August 10 resulted in the arrest of 975 individuals suspected of involvement in criminal activities, illicit liquor offenses, and drug-related crimes, the Police Media Division reported.
During the operation, 28,858 people were inspected across the country. Authorities identified 21 individuals directly connected to criminal activities and apprehended 422 suspects who had outstanding warrants.
The operation also targeted traffic violations, with 118 drunk drivers arrested and 3,595 others cited for various traffic offenses.
The police emphasized that these island-wide operations aim to crack down on drug traffickers of all scales, criminals, and those found in possession of illegal firearms.
