Sri Lanka’s Men’s Cricket Team has surged to fourth place in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) One Day International (ODI) rankings, earning 103 rating points and displacing Pakistan to fifth place.
The rise follows Sri Lanka’s recent 2-1 series victory over Bangladesh at home, highlighted by dominant wins in the opening and final matches by 77 and 99 runs respectively. Bangladesh dropped to the 10th position with 77 points, while the West Indies moved up to ninth place with 78 points.
India remains firmly at the top of the ODI rankings, led by captain Rohit Sharma. The Indian side holds 124 rating points, buoyed by their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph in March. New Zealand and Australia are placed second and third respectively, both with 109 rating points.
South Africa and Afghanistan follow in sixth and seventh places, with England sitting eighth.
Looking ahead, Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour Zimbabwe for a two-match ODI series beginning August 29, along with three T20 International fixtures. Meanwhile, Pakistan is engaged in a tightly contested ODI series in the West Indies, currently levelled at 1-1, with the deciding match set for August 12.
India’s next ODI action will come in October during their upcoming white-ball series in Australia, where they are slated to play three ODIs from October 19 to 25.
