Batticaloa police have apprehended three individuals, including a 35-year-old woman, in Karuvappankerny for possession of narcotics valued at approximately Rs. 2 million.

Authorities seized 1 kilogram of Kerala cannabis, 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”), and 25 grams of heroin from the suspects, who also include two men aged 24 and 34.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the group has been involved in drug trafficking for some time. It was further revealed that the woman’s husband is currently serving a prison sentence on similar drug-related charges.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court as the Batticaloa Police continue their investigation.
